Harriet Clunie is a well-respected veteran of Ottawa’s restaurant scene, Chef Harriet is currently the Executive Chef at Das Lokal in Ottawa. Previously she cooked at the late great Murray St., Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro and Oz Kafe, was also Chef de cuisine at Navarra, then Opening Chef at Das Lokal before taking over the Beechwood Gastropub’s kitchen in February 2016 where she became the Owner from March 2017 to August 2018.
You can now find her anywhere culinary creativity and innovation is happening, including being consulting Chef at Operation Come Home’s social enterprise FoodWorks Ottawa. She also has a boutique catering company called Wandering Chef that specializes in small intimate dinners in peoples’ home.
She is very passionate about her community and helping those in need by being aregular participant in fundraising efforts such as Taste for Hope for the Shepard’s of Good Hope and Broadway for Bruyere for Bruyere Hospitable and Feast of Fields for Carefor. You can also find her helping out in other kitchens in the city when some restaurants are short staffed, a culinary mercenary. Harriet ventures outside of the 613 to share her talents too, she recently did a guest stint at Bao Wow in Vietnam.
